Wool & Fiber

Natural and Luxurious!

Our sheep are born and raised near the headwaters of Trout Creek. They graze on mountain meadows and shrubland throughout the season on the Knott Ranch.

The Rambouillet ewes provide a strong, fine fleece from our mountain conditions allowing us to produce high quality pure wool products. We are pleased to offer these products to our local community!

The Processing

We have worked with two American woolen mills to offer a variety of products including yarn and blankets.

Yampa Valley Fiberworks mills the wool 100% naturally...no chemicals, dyes, or glues. Yampa Valley FiberWorks is dedicated to regional sheep farming, environmental cohesiveness, and keeping the natural fiber milling industry alive and well in the Yampa Valley. The yarn is 100% naturally colored Rambouillet wool.

Our blankets are made at Mountain Meadow Wool in Buffalo, Wyoming. Mountain Meadow Wool is dedicated to supporting local ranchers and raising awareness about ranching culture in the American West while being committed to revitalizing the American wool industry through eco-friendly operations.

"What I love about Trout Creek Wool is that it arrives clean and smells fresh, and it feels so good to work with." - Shirl C.

Blankets

Our beautiful Rambouillet wool has been spun and knitted into gorgeous blankets! These Limited
Edition blankets are 100% Knott Ranch Rambouillet Wool and American Made in Buffalo, Wyoming.
Weighing in at about 4lbs, they are warm, soft and snuggly.

Our first year blanket features an aspen leaf  symbolizing Tyler's adaptive ranch management strategy. Just as quakies move with the breeze, ranch management must change with the times to continue
thriving in the face of our changing world. With the sheep being found under and amongst our aspen
groves sheltering from the hot sun and grazing on the lush feed during summer, we saw the aspen leaf
as a symbolization of life on the Knott Ranch.
